General Aftercare Guidelines

Clean Your Hands: Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching your piercing or cleaning it to prevent introducing bacteria.

Use a Sterile Saline Solution: Clean your piercing twice a day with a sterile saline solution. You can buy this at most pharmacies or make your own by mixing 1/4 teaspoon of non-iodized sea salt in 250ml of warm distilled water. Gently soak or spray the area; do not scrub.

Avoid Harsh Products: Do not use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or antibacterial soaps, as these can dry out the skin and delay healing. Stick to saline solutions for cleaning.

Do Not Twist or Touch: Avoid twisting or playing with your jewelry. Touch your piercing only when cleaning, and always ensure your hands are clean.

Avoid Swimming: Stay away from chlorinated water, hot tubs, and lakes until your piercing is fully healed, as these can introduce bacteria.

Sleep Carefully: Try not to sleep on your new piercing. If necessary, use a travel pillow to avoid pressure on the area.

Monitor for Signs of Infection: Some redness, swelling, or clear fluid is normal during healing. However, if you notice intense pain, green or yellow pus, or a bump that doesn’t go away, consult a professional piercer or healthcare provider.
